Chapter 2: This Is Definitely Not The Ending
I was holding her hand and she was all lifeless on the hospital bed. A drip was attached to her vein on her hand. Her face was covered with wounds. A doctor came in with a report in his hand. He was looking sad and puzzled.
"I am sorry sir. She wouldn't survive this accident. Her survival rate is very low". .
I cried so hard and fell down to the floor and knocked my head. I woke up and soon realized it was a dream. It was half past nine. I walked to the balcony in my apartment and it was not a bright day. It was drizzling and no kids were playing in the playground.
I fixed myself a sandwich and enjoyed the day watching TV and scrolling through the magazines. It was sharp 8pm and i decided to take a long shower. I quickly dried my hair and wore a pair of blue jeans and white shirt and get into my car. I grabbed two glasses before leaving my apartment and fetched a bottle of wine and went straight to the mall where Bliss was working. I waited and waited till she came out.
She was wearing the same jeans with a black t-shirt. She enlighten as soon as she saw me but pretended not to react to me. She walked pass my car and waved. I stepped down and ran after her and handed her the rose i bought on the way. She smiled and said,
"Nice flower Elvin."
"Yeah. It is for you Bliss."
"I don't like flowers Elvin"
"What?"
"I said I don't like flowers".
"But I thought that's the best way to capture a girl's heart".
She laughed and said, "probably I am not one of those girls who loves flowers".
"But you can just take it Bliss so as not to hurt me".
She took the flowers from my hand and insert the stalk into her jeans pocket. The rose was beautifully sticking out of her pocket. She walked casually occasionally smiling at me.
"So, did you come to buy more things today?"
"Not really. I actually came to see you Bliss."
She was quiet. Well it was undeniably awkward.
"So do you want to have a drink with me? At the riverside? It will be crowded and you will feel secured."
She smiled at me brightly and said, "Okay, if you would share the fried rice I have in my bag."
I smiled at her and we walked all the way downhill towards the riverside. As usual, it was crowded with so much people. But to me, only Bliss was visible. She casually took off her shoes and sat on it as if it was a very normal thing to do. But that gesture did capture my heart. I did the same thing and sat next to her. There was a decent space between me and her.
"I don't consume alcohols Elvin". She looked worried.
"This is not alcohol. This is wine."
"Yeah it has alcohol in it and I hope you won't force me to go for it".
"No I won't but I didn't bring an alternate drink."
"That's alright Elvin. I have water in my bag."
We sat there for forty minutes enjoying the riverside view and eating her tasteless fried rice. It was actually a beautiful feeling.
She never spoke a single word. She ate, she shared it with me. I had my wine and she drank her water. She sat there drowning into thoughts looking at the river. I sat next to her quietly respecting the way she enjoyed her solitude. She stood up all of a sudden and turned to me and said,
"time for me to go home Elvin."
"I can drop you if you want."
"No thanks. I can walk myself."
"Are you sure? Can we spend some time tomorrow? "
"I won't be working here tomorrow night Elvin."
"Where should I be coming then Bliss?"
"Nowhere Elvin. Probably this is the last time we are seeing each other."
I almost grabbed her hand when she moved backward and gave me a serious look.
"No Elvin. This is not happening. I am certainly not your kind of a friend or girl. You have a good life and I am still searching for a reason for my life. Let my life be the way it is now. Please let me go."
I stood there like a statue as I watched her walk away from me. I teared a little, for the first time in life that too for an unknown promoter girl.
