Chapter 3: I cooked for someone

I respected her decision and decided not to bother her anymore. Days became weeks and I never meet her at all even by accident. I did go to the same bakery and mall guess she quit. Her memories slowly started fading away. One day I decided to go to a nearby computer shop to buy a mouse since mine wasn't working anymore. It was nearby so I decided to walk downhill. I walked all the way down and I saw her again. Bliss. Beautiful as it sounds. But she was in no proper shape. She was standing nearby a drainage crying her eyes out.
I went near her and looked at her. She was shivering. She was scared. I didn't care, I just held her in my arms strongly and calmed her,
"Bliss. Calm down."
She didn't push me away. She buried her face into my chest and wept harder. I held her strongly until her weeping was slowing down. I freed her when she was done.
"Are you okay Bliss?"
"Yes Elvin I am okay."
"You know, I want you to come to my apartment. It is just walking distance."
"No. I am working till 5pm."
"Which means you have another 10 minutes. You can go inside and get your stuffs and follow me home."
She looked puzzled and worried. The usual worry any young girl like her would have. I knew I had to convince her.
"Bliss. I am not a rapist. I am just a software engineer and I am decent type. I won't harm you. Just let me prove myself."
She didn't resist this time. She went into the shop and came out after 15 minutes. Her hair was tied in a messy ponytail, She was slightly calmer now. I lead her to my apartment and she stopped suddenly.
"I am sorry Elvin. I am not coming."
"But why Bliss?"
"I don't think it is right."
"Bliss, you will be fine. My house is a lonely place. Just me. Trust me and come. Please. Just once."
I managed to convince her. We took the lift to the 9th floor. I opened my apartment door and she stepped in. That day, I felt my apartment looked beautiful. She walked in and placed her bag on the table and sat on the sofa. She was very uncomfortable. I poured a glass of plain water and handed her. She held the glass very carefully. It was nice to see her chubby fingers holding the tall glass. I was quiet, I just wanted her to rest for a while. I asked her if she wanted me to switch the TV on and she said she don't like watching TV.
I handed a small pillow and I asked her to feel at home. I didn't question her about anything. I asked her to rest and I went to the kitchen. I took out some carrots, green peas, eggs and long beans. I was going to prepare some dinner. She must be hungry. As I was busy chopping some onions Bliss came into the kitchen with the glass in her hand.
"I came to put this glass and I think I should go home now."
"Bliss. I am preparing dinner for us. Please wait. I will send you home."
"You don't have to be nice to me. I don't deserve this."
"Of course you do Bliss. Please don't downgrade yourself dear."
She was quiet. She came near me and gestured to help me with the onions. I let her do it to make her feel home. At least I felt home having her around. She quietly helped me to make a decent fried rice.
I served the fried rice with some orange juice. We sat at the dining table as i helped her to put some rice onto her plate. I passed her a spoon. She ate quietly. I couldn't stand it no more.
"So Bliss, are you going to tell me why you were crying?"
She looked at me. My god her eyes told me almost everything.
"Elvin, I was actually scolded by the store owner for breaking bulbs."
"He scolded you for that and you cried because of that?"
"No Elvin it might sound foolish to cry over something like that. But I had too much of other stuffs going around in my mind."
"Yeah what was exactly going in your mind?"
"Maybe some other time when I am in better mood I will let you know. Okay?"
I nodded in agreement. It was good enough she opened up this much to me. I drove her to a place. It was all shops. She asked me to stop nearby a stationary shop. I did as she said. She stepped down of my car.
"Thank you Elvin."
"Bliss. Where do you live? Its all shop lots here."
"Oh. I am renting the top floor of this stationary shop. I stay above there."
"Bliss. Take care. Can I have your phone number?"
"I don't use a phone. I am sorry."
"That's alright. I will see you again."
"See you Elvin."
"See you Bliss."
