Chapter 5: A Night to Remember

I waited for her as usual in front of the stationary shop. I waited one hour and she didn't turn up. I went up to her house. It was locked from outside. I hopelessly waited another fifteen minutes and headed to a nearby mobile phone shop. I bought a basic smartphone and attached a sim card with mobile data. I went back to her house and sat there at the staircase and waited.
Around 9pm she turned up. I was already starving. She was looking really tired and stressed. Despite the fact I was starving like hell seeing her lifted my mood. She climbed up the stairs holding big shopping bags full of fruits and vegetables. I stood up to help her. Just at the moment she was reaching the last stair, she stopped. She looked at me sharply. She let go of the bags and weakly fell into my hands. Fruits were rolling down the stairs. She was lying down in my arms all weak and she could barely open her eyes.
Holding her in one hand, I inserted my hand into her jeans pocket reaching for the keys. I unlocked the door and carried her inside. I looked for her room. She didn't take me to her room when I visited her previously. I went into a room. There was a queen sized bed on the floor. The room was painted in grey. Her bed sheet was purple and her curtains was purple too. There was a blue yoga mat. A small shelf of books and a tiny aquarium on it. A small radio at a corner. It was a lovely room.
I walked towards her bed and placed her on her bed. My arm was aching badly. She was quite heavy. She looked as if she was sleeping calmly. She was clearly tired. I knew nothing was wrong with her. She was just tired. I took off her shoes and socks. I switched the fan on and tried waking her up. A few mild slaps on her cheek and she shifted her head to the right.
"Bliss? Bliss??!! Are you okay?"
She nodded weakly. I knew she needed rest. She needed food. I covered her with her blanket and went down to my car and drove to McD and got her a bowl of porridge and returned home with a bottle of orange juice to keep her fresh.
I went into her room and she was sleeping soundly. I didn't have the heart to wake her up. Yet she needed to eat so I slowly carried her into my arms. She opened her eyes and i fed the porridge. She ate quietly and halfway through she moved herself to the bed and grabbed the bolster. She was sleepy. I let her sleep. I stayed there in her sweet little house that night. I the sofa into her room and slept on it till the next day. I just felt the need of guarding her.
