Having One of Those Days
She woke up feeling so fresh. She cant believe she felt so fresh after waking up even before her alarm went off. She clearly remembered she only had five hours of sleep. She stretched and looked out the window and saw the sun was shining brightly. WAIT!! TOO BRIGHT FOR 7 AM!!! She turned and looked at her phone. Shit!!! Shit!! When the hell did that happened???!?!?!? Half past eight!
She jumped out of her bed and opened her wardrobe. What was she going to wear? She cant just wear whatever she wanted. It was presentation day. She had to be presentable and the first impression was very important. She took out a black dress and ironed it immediately and left it on the iron board and went in to shower. Just as she stepped out of the washroom, she smelled something awful. It was her black dress gracefully burning. HELL NO WAY THIS IS HAPPENING!! She had no choice but to wear her usual black skirt and her polka dotted long sleeved shirt neatly tucked in. She undo her bun and tried to brush it nicely and let it free. With all the troubles she was having, her hair refuse to stay silky smooth as it always was. She didn't care. She wore her heels and rushed out her apartment to her office,
Her boss was already standing there very calmly. Wait..he was cool..and calm..and quiet..he wasn't shouting.. Guess the clients were not there yet. She walked towards him and apologized and explained herself, He just smiled and said that,
"That's alright. Jessica has performed the presentation and the clients are happy. You can go back home and rest. Come back to work on Monday and get the reports done. Thank you for coming LATE".
It was heart breaking. She had been preparing for three weeks for the presentation because the clients were huge and she wanted to make her remark but everything was broken into infinite pieces. All she could do was to stand in front of the washroom mirror and look at herself for more than 15 minutes. Alright!! That's it!! My fault and I got to pay the price! she thought to herself and drove to the nearest restaurant. She bought all her favorite food ready to binge once she was back home and just at that moment her heels broke and came off the frame.
She knelt down to remove her heels so that she can walk to her car. She unbuckled her heels and walked to her car and drove back home. She flung her apartment door open and walked straight and removed her skirt and shirt and walked around with her inner garments and grabbed the television remote. She blared the songs at high volume almost breaking the glasses and went to take a hot shower long enough to wash away all her frustrations.
She wore her favorite night gown and walked towards the kitchen to eat her favorite food. Okay great! I'm the most intelligent woman on earth! She left her food parcel on the floor of the restaurant when she took off her heels. *sigh* She walked into the kitchen made fixed herself a sandwich and sat on her rocking chair enjoying the not so nice lunch of hers. She switched from one channel to another and her phone beeped. She was too lazy to check the message, and she chose to ignore it. She walked into her room and fell asleep there until 7 pm.
She rushed out of her room remembering the message that came in earlier. When she checked her phone, 19 missed calls and 5 messages from Eric. FUCK! He was leaving to Canada all off a sudden and he had called her that many times to say good bye to her and he was actually waiting for her at her apartment's main entrance to hug her once before he leave to Canada.
She couldn't do much about the situation. She was convinced that that day wasn't getting any better and its the best to quietly sleep until the next day. Some days can never be saved and it is a great experience having one of those days so that we will appreciate better day.
