Chapter 7:Who is She?
Not long after the breakfast, I was sitting on that couch looking through the stacks of magazines she has piled up. It was all some feminine magazines. I looked at her and she started defending herself,
"Don't look at me that way Elvin! Those magazines are fitted with real life shocks. You know true stories which inspires people and also good dieting tip and a few simple recipes i save every month but tried none."
She giggled and continued sweeping the floor. I can clearly sense that she was saying she was not at all the feminine type and she was reading it for some other purposes. I could not stop myself from seeing her now and then when she was sweeping the floor. I stood up and walked towards the table to take my keys and phone,
"Bliss, it is getting really late and im sort of stinking. I think I should go home and refresh."
"Oh, okay. Drive safely and message me once you have reached home."
"Yeap. Okay. How about lunch? I can come here after bathing and stuff."
"No it is fine. I can take care. I have some errands to run."
"Errands huh? Sure you don't need me around for your errands?"
Bliss was smiling. The sweetest thing I have seen in a while.
"Elvin, its so kind of you. But I am not so used to having someone around me. I am okay doing it alone. I got to buy some stuffs for the fridge and print notes.."
"Print notes? What sort of notes?"
"Oh I teach. Mathematics and Biology."
"You are a teacher? But i saw you working in a bakery and the hardware shop".
"Oh no Elvin I am not a teacher. I have graduated with journalism and I have applied for some decent jobs online and for now no companies called me for interview. Meanwhile, I do all this because im very passionate about no dying out of starvation".
I laughed at what she said. Oh Bliss, how can you be so beautiful? You are one perfect woman. I wish I can say all that to her. But I just ended up nodding my head and walked away towards the door. I turned and smiled at her. She waved goodbye and smiled back to me. Man she had no sadness I was leaving. But I felt like something was piercing through my heart as I walked down the staircase. But something more was pulling my attention. Why was Bliss alone? Is she an orphan? She grew up herself? All this questions were flooding my mind when I remembered seeing a photograph of a man and woman holding her tightly. She had the face of the woman. She can't be an orphan. There is something to all that.
I unlocked my car and looked up. She was standing there at her balcony with broom in one hand, smiling brightly. I waved and got into my car. I don't know why, but I felt she resembled Rachel so much.
Rachel was the most beautiful thing that have ever happened to me. Her smile. Her non stop complains about her pimples and the way she called herself genius whenever she does something amazing. That was not all. Rachel was one beautiful woman I fell in love with everyday. Bliss had resemblances of Rachel. I was never more alive than what I was with Rachel.
Growing up with rich parents and having no financial issues, sharing one cup of pearl milk tea and breaking chocolates into two was amazing to do. Rachel thought me how it feels to be stingy. I knew Bliss was stingy too. I saw how she reused the back side of notes printed A4 papers to write her daily expenses and to do lists. Women. They had their ways to fascinate men. It just takes the right one to admire it. After 4 years ever since Rachel left, I felt the need to wear the seat belt properly and drive safely because I somehow felt that Bliss was my responsibility and she needed me around.
